Curved border Curved Border

Planting in the curved border provides a productive & attractive backdrop of two fan-trained apple trees, with a succession of herbs, annuals, perennials and shrubs providing food for birds, bees & butterflies (shown in brackets below). A backbone of evergreen grasses holds the scheme together and adds texture.

To reduce weed growth and watering requirements, a weed-suppressing membrane was used under the pebble mulch, and plants were spaced out to allow access to the retractable washing line.
